National Taiwan University (NTU) is the prestigious flagship university of Taiwan. The QS World University Rankings (2014/15) placed it at 76th worldwide, the highest among universities in Taiwan. Meanwhile, as of October 2015, the university was at 17th in Asia (2015) in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, and 61st-70th in its World Reputation Rankings (2015).

Learning Chinese
NTU's Chinese language courses are among the world's most popular. You can decide to learn only Chinese, or you may take Chinese courses in addition to any other academic program of your choice. The University was established in 1928 under the name Taihoku Imperial University. The current name dates back to 1945.

Sports facilities
Source: www.taipeifilmcommission.orgA large part of the campus is devoted to exercise and health, including the New Sports Center opened in 2002, the Old Stadium and various outdoor tennis courts and playing fields. The New Sports Center is a three-storey-high building equipped with such facilities as badminton (2,100 m2), squash (4 courts), basketball, volleyball and handball courts, dance floors, a martial arts room (810 m2), a separate judo dojo (420 m2), an indoor swimming pool (25-metres), a gym (100 machines), an aerobics room, a table tennis room and a multipurpose international hall. Other facilities include outdoor playing fields, a 400-metre polyurethane track and field, seven basketball courts, seven volleyball courts, baseball, softball, football, rugby and handball fields, a golf driving range, tennis courts and an outdoor swimming pool.

Courses in English
NTU provides many opportunities to develop your potential alongside some of Taiwan's best students and faculty, within an exciting and supportive environment. Course Flexibility
NTU offers the richest general education curriculum in Taiwan, providing students with a wide knowledge base and the tools to think independently, while at the same time stirring their interests in other fields. Students who excel academically may graduate one year in advance. Outstanding master’s degree students can enrol directly in their department’s doctoral programme after their first year. NTU operates many dual degree programmes, in which NTU students studying abroad can be awarded dual degrees from both NTU and its partner universities.
